Background-Edward W. Thwaite

Edward W. Thwaite possesses extensive experience in both the brand and generic pharmaceutical industries. During 17 years at Hoffmann-La Roche, Ed managed virtually every product in the company's pharmaceutical line, including the launches of Accutane® and Zantac® (in the groundbreaking joint marketing arrangement with Glaxo), and managing for patent expiration and impending generic competition for both Dalmane and Valium.

Ed's experiences with Dalmane and Valium provided valuable exposure to the opportunity for the future generic business. In 1985, at the most opportune time for the generic industry, due to the Hatch/Waxman Bill, he joined Zenith Laboratories as Vice President, Marketing and Sales. During his years at Zenith, Ed coordinated the sales and marketing of over 100 products, as well as customer service, regulatory administration, and the launch of 12 products.

E.W. Thwaite Associates, Inc. is a unique consulting firm, as Ed Thwaite has been not only an integral part of both the branded and generic pharmaceutical industries, but also brings the following to clients:
